The 6th gen of the Toyota 4Runner has been anticipated for at least the last four or five years, and we finally get to see it for the 2025 model year. The all-new 2025 Toyota 4Runner has NINE different trims, including the new Trailhunter trim as well as the new Platinum trim. This is the first time the Platinum trim has appeared in the Toyota 4Runner lineup, and the 4Runner Trailhunter and 4Runner Platinum join the TRD Pro and TRD Off-road trims of the Toyota 4Runner for 2025. Many people speculated that the 6th gen Toyota 4Runner would borrow heavily from the all-new Toyota Tacoma, and they were right. The 2025 Toyota 4Runner will be powered by the same iForce and iForce Max engine options as the new Toyota Tacoma, and it will feature 2wd, 4wd, and a full time 4wd option on Limited and Platinum trims. The TRD Pro 4Runner returns with updated Fox shocks while the 4Runner Trailhunter carries over the Old Man Emu suspension setup from the Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter.
