As a new small business owner, I’ve seen how some have had bad experiences with a Tax Preparer that has either lied about their experience, claimed false business deductions, overcharged, etc. Therefore, it’s important to do your research and to ask the right questions when searching for a reputable and trustworthy Tax Preparer. The purpose of this video is to help those who need to know what to look for based on BEST and COMMON PRACTICES when hiring a professional Tax Preparer.

00:43 – #1. They will have an active and valid PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).
02:19 – #2. Has an established business with a physical address) no P.O. Box.
03:00 – #3. Do they have a social media presence with customer reviews?
03:30 – #4. Lookup their certification/license for proof of active credentials.
04:35 – #5. Ask if they provide “Engagement Letters” to all of their clients.
04:57 – #6. Ask about the fees they charge. They generally charge flat fees.
