Gigafactory Texas on 18 August 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Rain in the forecast again, but it held off and instead, we got a gorgeous sunrise over Giga Texas this morning! It was an incredibly busy day, and another milestone has been reached with the completion of the General Assembly structure and the topping ceremony, where an American flag and ceremonial Christmas tree hoisted up onto the final beam!

Work was underway on the west side of the highway, the south end, all throughout the main factory building and the east sides this morning! The factory is really beginning to look more like it will when finished and production underway! Lots of work remains, but the speed and progress are amazing to see!

Here are the highlights from today's video:
- The stamping machine structure has had two wall panels removed for some reason, but it is near where the Body-in-White structure joins up, so this may be related to the central area construction.
- The central area large excavation pit shows rebar being delivered and the deep cementitious concrete pier installation is beginning to show a pattern that suggests column footings will be constructed here soon.
- As mentioned, the General Assembly structure has reached a major milestone with the installation of the final beam on the east side and ceremonial tree topping ceremony. In addition, more floor and roof decking is being installed at the just-finished south end. Wall panel installation on the west side continues and the pattern on the west side is becoming more apparent. Paving of parking areas continues as well, and the loading docks now have vertical truck panels and otherwise look much more finished.
- A good amount of road work, concrete and paving on the south and west sides, including concrete curbs and medians on the far west side. There are also several utility trenches with electrical conduit in a near final state being installed bear the south bridge area.
- Utility & conduit installation on the northwest corner area continues as well, with some expanding onto the frontage road area. This may be for street lights around the perimeter of the building.
- The battery cell structure is a beehive of activity this morning. Several large electronic cabinets and machinery was delivered yesterday evening and apparently installed overnight and this morning already! Many more interior walls and other fixtures have been installed as well. The pace of exterior wall panel installation remains fast and they are now beginning wall installation on the north and final side!
- Just north of the paint shop, they are working on two large space frames, with one getting painted white.
- Big changes in the "alley" between the paint shop and battery cell structures as the steel assembly continues to grow and is now about 70% completed, including rails for a large bridge crane.
- The casting machine structure shows a lot of finished Model Y castings stored in the northeast area under the roof, there is foundation and casting machine assembly going on and a large slab section being constructed, and roof concrete work continues
- Earthmoving has resumed on the east side in and around the battery cathode foundation area.
- Many other developments all around the site so too many to list here (you’ll just have to watch the video!
