Some of the most iconic pictures of the last 50 years are of moments of dramatic tension - moments the world might not have seen if it wasn't for photographers on the frontline.

Not everyone is willing to pick up the baton from those who discarded the notion of keeping a safe distance from confrontation, but photojournalist Jim Wood is.

This is the first book in a series entitled "Protest". It covers a time when the United Kingdom was being run by the Conservative Party under the leadership of Prime Minister David Cameron. British photographer Jim Wood spent two years (2014-16) documenting the protest movement in Cardiff in south Wales. The nature of the protests during that period ranged from marches in solidarity with Gaza to anti-Nato protests when the NATO conference was held in Newport, Wales, anti-austerity and more recently protests in support of refugees and solidarity with the new leader of the opposition Jeremy Corbyn.
