I recently met fellow Malaysian bicycle commuter, Seang Nee, and we agreed to do a bicycle ride together + have coffee. This was also a good chance for her to try out my electric cargobike.

The video is a compilation of our 8.4 km bicycle ride together, which went from Chinatown to Bangsar, passing through Brickfields and Federal Hill. Most of the video is from my chest-mounted GoPro camera, but some of the clips are filmed on the go by Seang Nee using her handphone.

Interestingly, Seang Nee has recently given up her car and now gets around primarily by bicycle. She is a pioneer in this sense, because most people will not do so until proper bicycle infrastructure. But somebody has to lead the way, right....? Moreover, it turned out that she had already explored purchasing a cargobike, but a different one from mine, namely one with three wheels.

Enjoy the video!

My Omnium cargobike is from Denmark, but available on their webshop. I got mine delivered within 1 week of ordering it! Several viewers asked about the bike, so here are the details.
Website: https://omniumcargo.dk/

Price: RM10,000 (USD2500) for the cargobike without electric motor
Price: RM15,000 (USD3750) for the cargobike with electric motor, which is the one I have. The electric motor is a Shimano STEPS 8000 power unit. Motor power is 250 W (the max limit allowed in the EU), the battery stores 0.5 kWh of electricity, giving a range of 80-100 km, and only costing RM0.20 (USD0.05) to charge. Cheap operating expenses :-)

Seang Nee's preferred cargobike is from Butchers & Bicycles (https://www.butchersandbicycles.com/), incidentally also from Denmark. This three-wheel cargobike with a big basket in front tilts to the side when turning, which means you can lean into your turns when going fast. Cool feature.
