I made this video essay after watching Happy Death Day (2017) and Happy Death Day 2U (2019), directed by Christopher Landon and starring Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Rachel Matthews, Phi Vu and more. In this video, I explore the deeper themes of these two films; symbolism, the entanglement of birth and death, the cyclical time loop nature of life under the sun, whether there's hope for growth (hence, 'Tree' Gelbman's name), the multiverse and more.
