I have been bitching about this lally column since before I even moved into my shop space. It made my future showroom/work area underneath my loft look SO small and made it very difficult to maneuver my cars in and out. Unfortunately, for me, the existing column was load-bearing and would require a 21ft I-beam to go in it's place; instead of just being able to knock the column out and going about my day.

I used a 21ft W8X28 (28lb per/ft) 8'x6.5" beam with custom made 1/4" thick steel brackets and one 6x6 post on each end of the beam to support the load. This job was the reason I've had to prolong further renovating my shop because quite literally everything revolved around getting that I-beam set into place!

Huge thank you to Cam for helping out tremendously with this project, my pops, and Nolan from Advanced Coating Solutions for letting me borrow the forklift to lift the beam up into place!! Part 2 of the shop renovation series will be coming in next couple weeks and I hope you guys are as excited as I am! It's going to look unbelievable.

As always, thank you for watching, one love ❤️
-Aidan.
