Inquiring minds want to know; What's it like racing with the yoke steering wheel? Is it weird? Is it different? Is it harder to drive?

I registered for Events #7 and #8, the last two AutoX events of the 2021 season, here in the North Carolina Region. In this video I'm running Event #8, and we see the 3 fastest runs of the day. I mounted the helmet cam and got some great footage from my driving POV. You can clearly see how the yoke does or doesn't really affect the driving.

My initial fear of trying to race a circuit with twists and turns was that I would have a need to shuffle my hands, or adjust them, and would end up reaching for steering wheel where there wasn't any. Turns out, the design of the vehicle is such, that with your hands firmly planted at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions you really don't have a need to move them. I was turning the yoke to 180+ degrees from center, and had no concerns or feelings that I would lose grip of the yoke, or lose control of the car.

End result: I like the yoke for every day driving, and was pleasantly surprised. I actually like it for racing as well. It's comfortable, ergonomic, and has a good overall feel. It allows for more forward vision out of the cockpit with the top half of the wheel being deleted, allowing me to focus on the outside environment. If you think you won't be able to adapt to the yoke from a traditional round steering wheel, I'd say give it a test, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised as well.
