If something is going to go wrong during an iOS update, it'll be a major update, like iOS 15. Backing up your iPhone will help keep your data safe and give you peace of mind.

There are a couple different ways to back up your iPhone. The first is to use iCloud by opening Settings and tapping on your name at the top of the screen. Tap iCloud, then iCloud Backup. Finally, tap Back Up Now.

You can also back up your iPhone using your computer. If you have a Mac running macOS 10.15 or newer, you'll use Finder. If you have a PC or a Mac running macOS 10.14 or older, you'll use iTunes.
