The all-new GWM Tank 300 is a bold move by the increasingly dominant Chinese automaker. Following the massive success in South Africa of the Haval brand, GWM SA has launched an entrant into the fiercely competitive Adventure SUV segment.

The segment has always been dominated by the Toyota Fortuner, but the latest Ford Everest and Isuzu MU-X are compelling offerings.

The pricing of the new Tank 300 in South Africa undercuts all of its rivals by some margin, and with handsome looks, a rather exceptional and a punchy powertrain, GWM have given it every chance of stealing away some market share.

In this video, Jacob Moshokoa drives the new Tank on-road and offroad, and unfortunately the shoot ended rather prematurely when we accidentally sank it into some awfully sticky and deep mud.
