Who was Heraclitus? Who was Parmenides? Heraclitus and Parmenides are often considered some of the most radical presocratics for their metaphysical assertions. Heraclitus proposed the non-existence of a metaphysical being entirely. Parmenides denies the existence of becoming in response.
