Currently £1,999 from Richer Sounds the 4K, HDR, Video Projector, 3D, Home Cinemaseems to be something of a bargain. The laser for the light source in place of an LED, Xenon or Arc lamp seems to generate more appeal but it does boast a claimed contrast ratio of two and a half million to one so there clearly is an added benefit to using a laser. Also included is the Optoma UHD550X which I've had for over five years at the time of writing and sets a good example for how this newer, smaller projector should look, particularly with 4K UHD discs featuring HDR.

The most important settings I'm currently using on the UHZ50 are as follows:
Dynamic Range options - HDR Brightness set to 5
Brightness set to -14
Contrast set to 10
Colour set to 10
Tint set to 5
Sharpness set to the minimum which is 1
Brightness Mode options - select 'Constant Power' and set it to 75%
Brilliant Colour is set to 5 but I certainly have to play with this one some more as I'm not yet convinced it's necessary.

All the above settings are still being tweaked so they are not set in stone. 'Dynamic Black' is the best option within the Brightness Mode settings on the UHD550X projector but that didn't suffer the flickering issue that is evident when Dynamic Black is selected on the UHZ50.
