I had some trouble in this Wemo mini smart plug review and setup video. (You can find them on amazon, click here: http://amzn.to/2sP62dt)

I believe most of my issues came from the Wemo app. The darned thing just didn't seem to cooperate at every turn of this process.

I had the Wemo mini plugged in and followed all the on screen instructions. But in the initial steps I couldn't connect the Wemo smart plug to the app. So I tried twice and gave up and then BAM, the mini smart plug appeared on my phone.

I had the same sort of issue connecting my Wemo to Alexa smart home devices (i.e. my echo dot in this video). The app would say it couldn't connect. Then I'd just try again and it would work.

I would like to hang these issues on the Wemo app and hope this isn't indicative of its performance entirely. Only time will tell.
