The 2021 Kia Seltos jumped onto the scene as one of the earliest 2021 models available for sale and is also the newest entrant in the compact SUV segment. Therefore, it must take on its primary competitors and the market leaders, the 2020 Toyota CH-R XLE, the 2020 Nissan Kicks SR, and the 2020 Honda HR-V EX. I am comparing the S trim of the Seltos optioned with the all-wheel-drive and heated seats package, to keep all SUVs in the $23,000 price range.

I compare the SUVs in seven different categories and assign points to each:

1. Value (Price and features of each vehicle)
2. Safety (Both active safety features and passive IIHS results)
3. Power-train and performance (Engine, transmission, 0-60 time)
4. Fuel Economy (EPA rated fuel efficiency)
5. Reliability (Rated by Consumer Reports)
6. Functionality (How well the SUV performs intended function)
7. Styling (How each SUV looks, from my point of view)
