The foundlings of a musical icon, Michael Jackson was born on August 29th, 1958 in Gary Indiana, to humble beginnings. Having sung since the age of five as the lead vocalist in his family's group, Michael performed in amateur talent competitions and the local club circuit in till Motown came knocking.

After impressing executives during their initial audition, Motown signed the Jackson 5 and with the help of Diana Ross of Supremes fame, their legendary raise to superstardom had already begun.
