From Northern Europe we’re dropping this postcard from Finland’s capital city of Helsinki. I’m gonna be pretty honest with this one as I haven’t looked into this city at all before this and my only real understanding of it was when the country’s hockey team was playing in any world championship tournament. I mean hey, I am from Canada right, it’s what we know.

Anyways, I’m glad I got the chance to sit down and do a little research because it’s a super cool city. I love the waterfront and the architecture that’s spread throughout the city that doesn’t look much like other Northern Europe cities. I also wasn’t aware of how big saunas are in Finland either so that’s something new I learned.

I know Northern Europe cities always seem far away to visit, but really, they are almost all crammed pretty close to each other, which makes a trip easy to knock off several of those bigger cities like Stockholm, Riga or Tallinn.
