I just bought a new 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XL and was so excited to get it home after waiting a year from order that I barely looked at it on the lot. Of course the dealer already had their paper plates on it. The first thing I did when I got home was remove the paper plates. Immediately I noticed a problem. The front license plate bracket was attached with small aluminum rivets.

All it took was a gentle tug for the rivets to come completely out leaving my front license plate bracket hanging. No problem, I'll just replace the aluminum rivets with POM rivets, right? Wrong.

The entire front license plate bracket was mounted higher than the top of the bumper cover. There are indents on the bumper cover so you know where the bracket rivets should be. They are about 1/4" off on each hole in different directions. Yeah... Time to drill new holes in a brand new off the lot 2023 Maverick.
