July 23 sees the premiere of Netflix “Masters of the Universe: Revelation”, Kevin Smith’s de facto revival of the original Filmation He-Man series. It had a lot going for it. The animation and voicecast are stellar, as are most of the designs, and the initial information put out there was beyond promising. Yet, instead of being excited, many of the built in fans are either nervous, or have already written the series off as another current year activist friendly disaster.

How could something that started out so promising end up causing such trepidation among fans just weeks before its premiere?
