Watch how to "plant" mushrooms here:    • "Planting" Mushrooms Season (NO DIALO...

Here’s 10 steps to grow mushrooms in logs this spring

1. Get high quality Spawn from North Spore
2. Make sure your using the right type of spawn with the right type of wood
3. Inoculate within 2 weeks of cutting the logs
4. Use an angle grinder bit to bore the holes.
5. Place holes every 6 inches in a row, with rows 3 inches apart, on a diamond pattern
6. Use the North spore inoculation tool with sawdust spawn
7. After filling a hole, seal it with melted wax
8. Be sure to also seal the the ends and any other unbarked wood.
9. Place the logs near the ground, in a shady spot.
10. …and then the hardest part…waiting. Depending on seasonal changes, moisture, the health of the wood, fungal competition... in anywhere from 8 to 24 months later, you’ll have mushrooms.
