We caught up with Kombilesa Mi after their June concert at The People's Forum to discuss their music, how they preserve palenque cultural tradition, and their hopes for a new Colombia.

Kombilesa Mí is born from the rich musical and historical heritage of San Basilio de Palenque, the first free black town in the Americas, and fuses the traditional sounds of the community with urban music. The genre they created is called RFP, Rap Folklorico Palenquero.
