A company in Kelsterbach cooks his recipes. They also sizzle for state guests, Formula 1 teams and rock stars worldwide - now also with star chef Johann Lafer for passengers in first and business class. The Austrian is regularly in Hesse to check the quality of his menus. Fine dining on the plane, a big challenge for the young chefs from the Rhine-Main area, because people's taste buds react differently at 10,000 meters above sea level. Spices, ingredients, preparation - everything has to be well thought out, otherwise it won't taste like in a posh restaurant. The flight attendants have to complete and prepare the 5-course meals during the flight in the small galley in first and business class. The flight attendants have to be trained for this, which Johann Lafer does personally on a flight in the world's largest passenger plane, an A380 operated by Singapore Airlines, the only airline in the world with suites on board - comparable to a "hotel room".
