Having established a strong presence in the full-size SUV market, Rivian is introducing a new mid-size crossover called the R2. Set to go into production in 2026, it bears a resemblance to a scaled-down version of the R1S, featuring similar exterior design cues and lighting elements. However, beneath these shared visuals, the R2 is built on a newly developed, more cost-effective platform. Rivian intends to start the pricing for the R2 at $45,000 and will provide the SUV with three different powertrain options.
