Poem - A candle under a bushel

Is a candle put under a bushel, (Mk 4:21)
Is a lamp placed under a bed? (Mk 4:21)
Are they not set on a candlestick? (Mk 4:21)
For all men to see instead.

A city that is set on a hill, (Mat 5:14)
Cannot be hidden away. (Mat 5:14)
Even the light inside the house, (Mat 5:15)
Shines the path along the way. (Ps 119:105)

Now let your light so shine, (Mat 5:16)
With good works before men. (Mat 5:16)
That they may glorify God, (Mat 5:16)
Both time and time again.

For Jesus said you are the light, (Mat 5:14)
So let your deeds shine ever so bright!
