I head back to the site of the tiny fossil shark teeth to see if there are any more hiding in the layers there. This follows on from this video: • Miocene fossil shark teeth and a one-...
I retrieve 9kg of sediment and dissolve it using sodium hexametaphosphate so I can use a sieve to retrieve the shark teeth.
The teeth are possibly from a Dalatias sp. shark.
Along the way I find some really great fossil crabs that I will be prepping soon. On the way back I go and check out some large fossil verts that Jordan had spotted and find a fossil that looks like Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.
