For 2024 the smallest SUV in Hyundai’s lineup has grown, receives significant tech upgrades and a new engine and transmission. The combination makes it a solid and compelling small SUV, if you can handle the styling, which… Isn’t like anything else on the road. Tired of “me-too” designs, the Hyundai team pulled styling cues from their boxy Ioniq 5 EV and the sleek Genesis GV60 and mashed them together into the Kona. The look is OK to my eye, but not quite “sexy” and downright strange looking to others. That’s exactly what Hyundai wants however: design that elicits passion, both positive and negative.
