Frog Lake trail is amazing, refreshing with stunning views! What more could you want in a hike? Hiking to Frog lake through the forest is a short 2.2-mile trail that is so rewarding. Frog lake is located in the Mokelumne Wilderness area of South Lake Tahoe. The trail-head starts at the ranger station off of Carson Pass on Hwy 88 in Northern California. The ranger station is closed at the time, but the trail is open. Like most hikes in the Sierra Nevada mountains, this offers one stunning view after another. The beginning of the trail starts out as a small incline right off the start. For some, this part of the hike might be challenging due to the elevation gain. You hike through the lush green forest for 1 mile. The trail is well marked with a sign to turn to the lake.

I would highly recommend walking around the lake to see the views over the valley overlooking Red lake. If you want to add more onto this hike you can go continue on the trail to Lake Winnemucca Lake. Watch this video to see more about that hike    • Winnemucca Lake Hiking Trail/Carson Pass
