Ram 1500 Transfer Case Review -    • RAM 1500 4WD LOCK Test (ESC System OF...

I hope everyone had a great long weekend! I got the chance to review this beautiful 2022 Ram Rebel G/T. Firstly as always Ram seems to make beautiful looking trucks and this truck is beautiful.

The Rebel debuted in 2015 trying to compete with other off-road focused trims level like Toyotas TRD off-road package, the Chevy Z71 off-road and the Ford fX4 packages.

Now originally when this Rebel came out in 2015 it was rumored to compete with the ford raptor but after looking over the specs it was not anywhere close to the Raptor. in fact I was pretty disappointed with the original Rebel.

the Original rebel came with 2 open differentials which is not representative of an "off-road truck"

However with the fifth gen Rebel Ram really stepped up there game and made a great truck. this Rebel comes with a 1" lift, larger 33" tires, wider stance, skids plates, off-road bumpers, tow hooks, true locking transfer case, 3.92 gear and finally a fully locking rear differential.

All of those features are fanstastic and make this Ram Rebel honestly a great off-road worthy pick up truck. but the beauty is you can still use this RAM Rebel truck like an actual pick up truck. it can tow like 11,500 lbs and has a decent payload. something the Raptor and TRX can't do.

Now I love the Rebel is is 100% worth the cost of getting and it looks great too. But the G/T package had me a little underwhelmed

The G/T package adds 2 performance features, ram air intake and a cart back exhaust. the exhaust actually sounds really good and I'm a fan. but here is the kicker. the 5.7 hemi does not gain any power. it remains at stock power figures of 395 hp and 410 Lb-ft of torque. which is very diapointing.

the interior comes with some additional stuff as well like a console shifter, paddle shifters and other goodies. but to me RAM should of increased the power numbers.

The real reason why I would not buy the G/T is because they removed the off-road worthy locking transfercase with the clutch pack style transfercase. so you are actually losing off-road performance with the G/T which sucks.

the G/T package is a cool thing to have but personally I think you would be better to just stick with a normal Rebel.

Hope you guys liked the video!
