What does it mean to ‘be a man’? Psychologist Itisha Nagar does an acute analysis of masculinity in the Indian context through personal anecdotes, cultural references, and psychological theories. She proposes an evolved view of masculinity, and how we can teach our boys to be a (hu)man. Dr. Itisha Nagar is a former professor of Psychology at Kamala Nehru College, University of Delhi. She has published various papers in reputed national and international journals in her areas of interest namely clinical and gender psychology. Dr. Nagar has been actively invited for numerous talks and lectures in educational institutions throughout the country for her strong views and active involvement in spreading awareness about topics such as mental health, gender, neurodiversity and feminism. In her free time she enjoys using the tool of social media to make psychology jargons accessible and understandable. Dr. Nagar’s overarching goal is to contribute to making the world a more compassionate, empathic, just, and self-aware place through education.
