This is a nice ammonite find that i made, preserved in iron pyrite. Here along the Jurassic Coast are some fossil surprises, that i spot at low tide! The big ammonites on the beach are also protected for everyone to see. Geologically speaking though these fossils are eroding away rapidly ! The sea will take them away soon for ever. So it’s great to see them whilst you still can, at low tide! Beware of the dangerous cliffs that are liable to fall suddenly and without warning ‼️ I hope you find some fossils along the Jurassic Coast-at low tide as well! Sometimes fossil hunting turns out to be treasure hunting, especially when you are trying a bit of sieving. The Jurassic Coast really does have some stunning fossils. I recommend wearing safety glasses and sturdy rubber gloves when hammering the right little rocks. Remember the cliffs are dangerous and liable to fall suddenly and without warning. Keep away from the dangerous cliffs. The best fossils are washed out onto the beaches at low tide, by the sea's actions. Look out for the slippery seaweed on the ledges and rocks. I offer fossil walks along the Jurassic Coast on the following website, so feel free to take a look at the website I made, with our online fossil walks ——————http://www.lymeregisfossilwalks.com There is a fossil collecting code of conduct in place along the Jurassic Coast.
