Ride out to the Salt Creek Hills near Dumont and explore a piece of history from 1849! This is a great way to break up your dune trip and take a little day or half day adventure depending on how much time you choose to spend out there. The hike is only about a 1/4 mile but there are hiking trails that go all over those mountains to mines. Do not leave any trash and do not take anything from the area. Please leave it like you found it for the next person to experience.
