The Lexus LS has been the brand’s most innovative model since it first debuted in the early 1990s. In 2007 it introduced the world to the 8-speed automatic transmission and was one of the first Lexus models to be offered as a hybrid, known as the LS 600h L. In this video we are taking a look at the modern LS hybrid, the LS 500h.

Refreshed for 2021, the LS 500h receives some interior updates and mild exterior tweaks. Its naturally-aspirated 3.5L V6 with a 4-speed + CVT transmission remains unchanged, as do the performance and fuel economy figures. 354 hp, 28 mpg combined, 0-60 mph in 5 seconds flat. You do, however, get a standard height-adjustable air suspension for this model year. Precise steering and a smooth ride highlight the drive experience, but you will certainly find better performance and handling from some of the competition.

A new touchscreen infotainment system steps in to make the user experience more…. user-friendly. It isn’t the brand new system found in the 2023 NX, as it still retains the Enform touchpad for certain controls, but it is definitely a step up.
