Another Abandoned (ish?) track! Ponca City Oklahoma, for 20+ years hosted top level SCCA races every year on 4th of July weekend. An anachronism in it's own time, from 1961 to 1992 (with a short break in the early 80s) the Ponca City Grand Prix drew drivers and fans from across the country to northern Oklahoma to enjoy races and a party-like atmosphere. Since the races were held on otherwise-public roads in and around a park, we can still drive a socially-responsible lap or two and imagine what it would have been like back in the day!
