If this is the only fumigation tip video you watch you could have just saved your roof.

Tenting your home for fumigation purposes is great for getting rid of termites but could be very damaging to your roof. Walking on a tile roof is tricky. You need a skilled roofer who is trained on how to walk on tile roofs.

Before hiring a termite company to install a tent around your home you should have a licensed roofer inspect and take pictures of your roof. Before and after photos of your roof after the tenting is removed may reveal some serious roof damage caused during the tenting process.

There's no way a fumigation company can tent your home without getting on the roof. Most roofs can handle the foot traffic of a tenting job.

But, if you have a tile roof you may not be so lucky. Some roofing tiles are strong and walkable and some are not.

Some tile roof are so weak you should just keep every off them if possible.

In this video we show a Cedarlite roof which had a fumigation tent installed and removed just a few weeks prior and the damage was significant.

Knowing the potential for this type of damage before you decide to tent or not is critical. Don;t let yourself get caught off guard to this kind of expensive roof damage. Have a professional roofer inspect your roof and learn if your can handle the tenting process or if you should explore other options to rid your home of termites.
