We set out on an adventure to explore the back trails of the Carolinas & Tennessee. With the season changing we were excited to go see the trees and colors. As soon as we got to see mountains we were not disappointed with the contrast of colors and rich warm reds and yellows.

Day 1: We booked a site at this amazing Hipcamp in Mars Hill North Caroline. What made this site so epic was the cool abandoned runway and the views at the top of the mountain next to the campsite. If you are looking to book this camp site the photos show the campsite being at the tip where you see the opening and epic views however that is not the site (link below).

Day 2: We headed to meet the group in Hot Springs NC. Small town know for its hot spring. You can reserve a time to go and spend some relaxing time in a tub with natural hot springs water. This was not part of the trip but something cool to do if you are in the area. From here we headed into the back trails throughout Scraggy Ridge, Hurricane Gap, & Ramsey Gap Area. We camped at Cosbys Creek which was great to have bathrooms and be in the midst of beautiful trees.

Day 3: After getting Mike's broken axle cut off we headed i40 towards Asheville to find the entrance to Hurricane Creek. We moved slowly through the trail to end up at Max Patch a must hike to the top of the mountain with 360 views of all and only mountains. We got done late and made it to camp in the pitch black with some rain at North Mills River Camp Ground.

Day 4: We made our way through Brevard NC for breakfast and fuel. Hit a short easy trail through the mist and then called it a day for off-roading and went into town for shopping and exploring
