2-भगवत्पाद ने सौन्दर्यलहरी की रचना कर भगवती के स्तवन से
श्रीविद्या की उपासना एवं महिमा, विधि, मन्त्र, श्रीचक्र एवं षट्चक्रों से
उनका सम्बन्ध तथा उन षट्चक्रों के वेधरूपी ज्ञान के प्राप्ति का मार्ग प्रशस्त किया है।
सौन्दर्यलहरी में कुल सौ श्लोक हैं, जिनमें से आदि के इकतालिस श्लोक
आनन्दलहरी के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हैं।
शेष उनसठ श्लोकों में देवी के सौन्दर्य का नखशिख वर्णन है।
वस्तुत: 'आनन्द' ब्रह्मा का स्वरूप है जिसका ज्ञान हमें भगवती करा देती है।
अत: ब्रह्मा के स्वरूप 'आनन्द' को बताने वाली भगवती उमा के स्वरूप का
प्रतिपादन शेष उनसठ श्लोकों में वर्णित है।तंत्र में कई यंत्र भी प्रयोग में आते हैं।
ऐसे यंत्रों में सबसे आसानी से शायद श्री यंत्र को पहचाना जा सकता है।
