If you haven't heard of the Sanoviv Medical Institute in Rosarito, Mexico be sure to watch this video! Sanoviv is a cutting-edge facility about an hour south of San Diego that is changing lives with their totally integrative approach to healing and treating disease using the body's own healing powers. They host retreats for anyone simply interested in wellness and taking a few days to escape the grind as well as treat cancer patients using less invasive and highly effective treatments using things like high-dose curcumin, detoxification and targeted chemo therapies.

I was there for 5 days doing the Health and Education Retreat to learn about the many ways we can achieve optimal health and happiness through proper nutrition and lifestyle choices. Besides the ONE raw dessert during my time there (SHOWN IN VIDEO), all of our food was gluten, dairy, sugar and toxin-free and oh-so-delicious. While we did enjoy some chicken and fish several of the days, most meals were vegetarian and full of detoxifying greens, healthy fats like avocados, legumes, seeds and nuts. Fruit was limited to only green apples with the exception of some mango and pineapple in our amazing dessert.
