2020 started with such hope and optimism, at least in the automotive world.
One of those hopes was for fully autonomous vehicles to be truly hitting our roads by the end of the year, for Tesla to be pushing full self driving to every Tesla. For autonomous robotic taxi services to be commonplace in every major city around the world.
We're now two weeks from the end of the year - and we're still waiting. While improvements in autonomous vehicle technology have happened -- Tesla's FSD beta is more competent than it was at the start of the year -- fully autonomous vehicle operation is still a pipe dream.
So what went wrong? And when will we actually see self-driving cars?
