What's new for 2024?
After last year's overhaul, the Kia Sportage sees less dramatic changes for 2024. Kia puts second-row seat airbags and LED projector headlights as standard equipment on all Sportage models. They also released an all-wheel drive SX trim for 2024.

Prices for the 2024 Kia Sportage start at $28,565 and go up to $39,365 depending on trim and options.
The mid-level EX offers the most value here, adding desirable features like a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless smartphone charging and heated front seats.
Performance, Engine, and Transmission.
A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and either front- or all-wheel drive as the Sportage's basic powertrain. During our first test drive, we selected both the standard four-cylinder and the hybrid engine; we were happier with the latter. The Sportage without a hybrid took 8.6 seconds to reach 100 mph on our test track, while the hybrid took just 7.4 seconds. The Sportage has a more comfortable ride thanks to its larger wheelbase than the model it replaced. It rides on a new platform. Although the small has an off-road attitude when tough-looking trim like the X-Line is applied, the X-Pro really has some kit to help it face the hard stuff.

When fitted with front-wheel drive, the Sportage is rated by the EPA at 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway; all-wheel drive vehicles have a rating of 23 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
Cargo, Comfort, and Interior.
The Sportage's interior design is impressive, with a large digital display on the dashboard and other striking features. You may choose a beautiful two-tone color scheme for the interior, or you can go with an all-black cabin if that's more your style. Several controls, including a rotary switch and a push-button start button, are integrated into the piano-black bezel of the center console. The Sportage offers 40 cubic feet of luggage capacity behind the rear seat and additional legroom for passengers in the back seat due to its bigger size and longer wheelbase. For more adaptability, there's a two-level cargo floor as well.
