On the occasion of Holi, let us brighten up our knowledge domain about this festival from the perspective of Punjab. Holi gets its beautiful name “Hola Mohalla” in the state of Punjab. Holla Mohalla is celebrated to celebrate the aspect of Sikh fraternity and brotherhood at Anandpur Sahib. The festival is celebrated for three consecutive days, in which members of Sikh community(the Nihangs) display their physical strength by performing dare-devil acts like bareback horse-riding, standing erect on two speeding horses, Gatka (mock encounters) which ultimately makes it a famous place which is into martial arts. The Indian Government has now given Holla Mohalla the status of a " National Festival".
Let us all celebrate Holi in its new way by chanting Wahe Guru Wahe Guru.
