It is with a heavy heart that we present this video.
The Bar Trail, popularly known as Marbles Canyon is a local trail that has always been one of those "If you know, you know" trails that you had to be taken to by someone who had been there. Of course, as more people gained knowledge of the trail, they passed the knowledge on, till the trail became pretty well known even to non-locals. But, pretty amazingly, the location of the trail has still been kept largely unknown to the general public. You can find it on the internet if you looked hard enough, and there's probably a few videos that hint at its awesomeness.
Sadly, Marbles Canyon won't be around for anyone to enjoy forever; probably not even long enough for you to enjoy after watching this. The trail has never been a legally established trail, on federal land. Long ago, the land it sits on was just county land, then it might have been annexed by the city of Hesperia, we're not really sure, but it is now set to be developed into housing, so it is presumably the private property of the real estate developer. So, sooner or later The Bar Trail will be lost forever.
So here we present the trail for all to see and always remember. What we won't do is divulge its location, as we don't want to encourage folks to go get themselves a trespassing citation (there have been accounts lately) and we want to maintain the tradition of the trail.
If you've run the trail, it may look unfamiliar. This is because we ran it in reverse; moving west to east, or downstream. Traditionally the trail is run in the other direction.
