This is a companion video that closes a blog essay I wrote about my 6th-grade teacher in 1962-63, Eleanor Lindner. I wanted to share what I knew about this remarkable woman, and I ended up getting invaluable help from her children Marged, Dan, and Rick, all now in their late 70s and early 80s. (Eleanor passed away in 1996.)

I had learned that Eleanor would play and sing hymns on the family piano back in the '50s, and one of her favorites was "How Great Thou Art." I had further learned that Dan and Rick -- Vermont's preeminent bluegrass performers and recording artists -- and their families had performed it live in the 1990s and early 2000s. How fitting, then, that their rendition is presented here, with Dan's permission, to honor their mom in the most meaningful way possible.

The New Bremen Town Musicians:
Dan Lindner: banjo, vocals
Jaye Lindner (Dan's wife): lead vocals
Deanna Booth (Jaye's daughter): vocals
Rick (Will) Lindner: guitar, vocals
Nancy Mosher (Rick's wife): vocals
Matt McGibney: bass, vocals

This track comes from their 2-CD set of live performances entitled "When Time Was Young," and, if anyone's interested, it can be purchases here: https://www.banjodan.com/
