We’ll first learn how to open a new short, how to close it out once the time comes, and then finally we’ll learn how to use the Active Trader tool to make the entire process so much quicker.

Selling shares is essentially selling shares of stock you don't own. Then hoping to repurchase those shares at a much lower price at a later date. There isn't a special short button within thinkorswim, you simply create a sell ticket.
