The flute section of The U.S. Army Field Band brings a wealth of performance and teaching experience to Flute Fundamentals, the latest in the Army Field Band instructional video series. Flute Fundamentals offers expert advice for the first-year beginner, the band director, and the serious college student. The video covers the topics of embouchure, breathing, tone production, finger dexterity, articulation, advanced techniques, the practice routine, ensemble playing, instrument maintenance. A history of the flute is also included, and the members of the flute section perform solos, excerpts, and ensemble works throughout each chapter.

The United States Army Field Band is the premier touring musical representative for the United States Army. Its four main components, the Concert Band, Soldiers' Chorus, Jazz Ambassadors, and the Six-String Soldiers, travel thousands of miles each year presenting a variety of music to audiences throughout the nation and around the world. Public concerts, school assemblies, clinics, festivals, and radio and television appearances are all part of the Army Field Band's schedule.

This educational clinic series is designed to share knowledge with America's young musicians and to aid teachers by focusing on specific musical areas.
