Tony Stark may be able to make you feel like he’s the cool exec with the heart of steel, but when it gets right down to it he’s a tinkerer with the world’s most enviable workshop and resources. Even with the seemingly unlimited money and material, most of us wouldn’t manage half the output that the genius engineer comes up with in his spare time and sometimes on a whim. Benefiting from being a fictional character Stark’s inventions have drawn from both potential technologies suggested by real world geniuses like Nikola Tesla and from comic book ‘super science’ where the inner workings are not as relevant as the results. It’s not all flying suits and repulsor rays, either. From technologies that could change life on this planet like an orbital power plant to technologies that are more adorable in their restriction than they are their accomplishments like The Smiths. Tony isn’t just living off the inheritance of his parents, he’s building a new legacy on top of their already considerable one with a string of inventions to either help defend or define the earth. Between all his partying and goofing around and his friendly rivalry with ol’ Captain America Tony Stark has managed to find time to invent a centuries worth of fantastic technology that anyone would be proud of just creating a few.
