This is a follow up to the video I did earlier in the week about how we get our health insurance. There were some helpful comments and questions about our insurance so I thought that I should do a little more homework and another video.
The other thing I forgot to mention in the video is that other local schools have less expensive plans but also not nearly as much coverage. The schools started cutting costs of benefits around ten years ago when health insurance started going up rapidly. Some schools elected to keep the excellent coverage with a larger employee share while others kept a lower share but reduced the coverage. It was, and still is, what each district and employee union negotiated.
