Hyundai’s premium challenger brand has done its homework and the all-new Genesis GV70 is an incredibly polished, lavishly equipped and luxurious mid-size SUV.

It’s expected to be the brand’s top-selling model for the foreseeable future and it’s abundantly clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into making it shine.

Not only does it drive nicely, have a suitably lavish and quiet cabin, but it’s bristling with the sort of technology other brands charge extra for, or simply don’t offer.

A range of interior leather choices are free of charge, all models have a massive glass roof and a giant 14.5-inch central touch-screen, and all models come with complimentary servicing for the first five years.

But for all its value, generous equipment levels and impressive build quality, the Genesis GV70 is missing one key ingredient that its German rivals deliver in spades – brand recognition.
