KDP have just announced that royalties are set to change and, for most publishers and authors, that will mean a reduction in royalties. This will apply whether you’re publishing fiction, non-fiction, low content or medium content books. The reduction in KDP earnings are due to the change in fixed costs or printing costs due to inflationary pressures. Some books may benefit. These include books with a color interior which may see a reduction in printing costs. In this video I look at the changes and look at the impact on earnings for some different sized books, the larger books seeing the biggest changes.
