Electric cars are known for how fast they can go. Tesla’s in Ludacris modes, are so fast that they can make you sick. Electric motors are particularly efficient and capable of achieving a high rotation per minute count, in a very short time. They are so fast that just a one-speed transmission, is enough to get them blazing fast while internal combustion engines may have up to 8-speed transmissions systems, to get them to the same speed.
The first car to ever break the 62 miles per hour speed on land, was an electric car in 1899. Nowadays, the title of the fastest production car is held by the Kernisseg Aguirre R S, which has a speed of 278 miles per hour as of 2019.

Internal combustion cars have had the edge over electric cars when it comes to the fastest cars in the world. They have had a century of development and in that time, interrupting the development of electric cars. The development of electric cars only restarted about 20 years ago, with the first significantly compelling electric car model being the first generation Tesla Roadster.

These are the top fastest electric cars in the world.
