Understanding & Managing Anxiety: Fear of the Unknown (Session 1)

This course will help you understand where anxiety comes from and its effects on the mind and body so that you can better manage, decrease and even overcome its symptoms. This course is structured like a series of therapy sessions. You’ll need pen and paper for guided exercises designed so that you can apply the information specifically to your life. “Therapy Homework” may also be provided so that you can practice the tools and techniques between sessions. You’ll also be able to share your journey, ask questions and provide encouragement to other participants in the course classroom.


Session 1: Fear of the Unknown
Understanding the correlation between anxiety and fear can help us also understand ourselves and how anxiety manifests itself in our life.

Session 2: Mind/Body Connection
Learn why having a strong mind/body connection can help us manage the symptoms of anxiety.

Session 3: Anxiety is Not Our Enemy
In this session we'll discuss why we get anxiety and what our body is trying to tell us.

Session 4: The Root Cause
Through a guided exercise discover how and why your symptoms started so that you can get to the root cause of anxiety.

Session 5: It’s Not “MY” Anxiety
In this session we'll practice techniques to separate yourself from anxiety so you don’t let it define you.
