Event Description
So much of the technology that we interact with every day can trace its history back to the pioneering work of Bell Labs. Their renowned model for innovation made its way from the many research and development campuses in New Jersey across the country to California and would pave the way for Silicon Valley's thriving successes. Parts of the Bell Labs model for innovation can still be seen today at companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and within many of today's fast-growing startup communities.
In 2018, we hosted our initial event around this insightful topic and how it is still relevant in the world of technology startups to this day. That event was enjoyed by our members so much that we are following up on the discussion with part two here.
Come join us for an evening of highly engaging discussion with experts in the emerging applications this next wave of communications technology will bring. Our topics for the evening will include:
- Where do big science and fundamental research fit in today's shareholder value-driven technology world?
- What aspects of the Bell Labs innovation model should 21st-century companies adopt?
- What can universities do to further align with the technology community?
- Where do you think the NYC area will be as a technology hub in 10 or 20 years?
- What specific STEM disciplines do you think would be good choices for young people entering college today?
